Research Support Cores
Mouse Genetics Core
Dr. Pam Mellon
The UCSD SRP transgenic mouse facility.
Protein Characterization Core
Dr. Elizabeth A. Komives
This facility supports a new QSTAR XL quadropole time-of-flight mass spectrometer for the identification, microsequencing, and analysis of post-translational modifications of newly discovered proteins.
Molecular Imaging Core
Dr. Mark Ellisman, Dr. Guy Perkins, Dr. Roger Tsien
Facilitates the development of novel expression and detection systems to aid in defining unique biological mechanisms associated with exposure as well as feasible biomarker or detection systems.
Administration Core
Dr. Robert H. Tukey
Providing administrative and program support to all projects and cores.
Research Translation Core
Dr. Keith Pezzoli and Dr. Ilya Zaslavsky
Applying toxicogenomic knowledge and biomolecular technologies to real-life problems concerning hazardous substances and environmental health.
Community Outreach Core
Dr. Keith Pezzoli, Hiram Sarabia
Communicating the knowledge and findings from the SRP with scientists and community leaders in Indian country for the purposes of facilitating their own efforts to locate, assess and remediate environmental hazards.
Training Core
Dr. Robert H. Tukey
Training Ph.D. candidates in medical and biological sciences relating to environmental health, especially in areas that relate to cellular signal transduction in mammalian cells.
